Tamay Kerber
1. Chairman
My name is Tamay Kerber, I am 23 years young and a qualified mechanical engineer by trade.
I am delighted to have been elected Chairman of the association in November 2023.
I came to Regentropfen e.v. through my parents Edith & Wolfgang Kerber and have been directly involved in many projects over the past few years, including in Sri Lanka.
I was able to experience for myself how important our work is. Doing something good and giving the children and families a perspective, as I did, makes me happy.
Because of my background, I can also give a lot back to the people who made this life possible for me. I am really looking forward to working in the team.
Gaby Bender
2.Chairwoman
Through the adoption of my two children from Vietnam, I came into contact with a toddler group with adoptive parents in the greater Aschaffenburg area and that's how I came to the Regentropen e.V. association.
It was a wonderful, active time in which we realized our vision of supporting needy children and young people in Sri Lanka and Vietnam and achieved a lot.
A few years ago, I visited Vietnam with my daughter and supervised and implemented an aid project there. I have also been to Sri Lanka several times myself, including a week at the Sirisangabo school, where I helped out and helped organize the lessons.
Working with the local children was always very touching and gave me great pleasure.
For many years, I was the first chairperson of the association and was primarily responsible for event management. The events were important for us to make our small association better known in the greater Aschaffenburg area. Thanks to regular public relations work, we succeeded in doing this.
Due to illness, I retired from the front row in November 2023. However, I look forward to continuing to pursue the goals of the association as 2nd Chairwoman and to volunteering my time.
Andrea Balling
Founding member and secretary
i first came into contact with the association Regentropfen e.V. in 1997. I was a founding member of Sri Lanka Care e.V. after adopting my eldest daughter, who has developed into a wonderful person and now works independently in a medical profession.
This was the original association of today's Regentropfen e.V.
At the time, we were a handful of adoptive parents, all with children from Sri Lanka.
As a result, we had all traveled to the country and seen a lot of poverty as well as a wonderful island. At the time, the country was in the middle of a civil war that lasted from 1983 to 2009.
We wanted and still want to improve the living conditions for children and young people and their families in their own country.
Edith Kerber
Founding member & treasurer
When I adopted my Sri Lankan-born daughter in 1994, I had no idea that this would be the beginning of a great friendship. A friendship with a country whose people I have been supporting for over 30 years.
I founded the association out of a toddler group with parents whose children came from Sri Lanka & Vietnam. This enabled us to give something back to the country our children came from. At the beginning we took over the association Sri Lanka Care e.V. and renamed it Regentropfen e.V..
As the mother of 3 adopted children (1 x Sri Lanka, 2 x Vietnam), I took on the wonderful task of being personally involved in the distribution of donations in addition to my role as treasurer.
My favorite project was and is the Sirisangabo special school in Pasyala/Sri Lanka. The school was built in 2021 and I personally supervised every construction phase. Further projects to support the children at this school are planned.
